The Buford Highway Glyphs

2 City Plaza

Featuring work by: John Dean

John Dean: Buford Highway Glyphs highlights Buford Highway and the vibrant blend of global ethnicities who have settled there. These ethnicities include Mexican, Chinese, South American, Vietnamese, Russian, Pakistani, Korean, Bangladeshi, Ethiopian, and more. The Buford Highway Corridor is a place where everything happens. It is located on an old, much forgotten industrial highway that links Atlanta Georgia with the smaller town of Buford Georgia. In the last 20 years it has morphed into a social, commercial, and spiritual refuge for a succession of emigrant populations from all over the world. This exhibition is presented by the City of Atlanta’s Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs in partnership with Welcoming Atlanta: The Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs.
