Black Outlined Blue is a photography exhibition highlighting the experiences of black police officers as law enforcers and civilians. How does their perspective of life as a black citizen in America coexist with their service duties? How does a black officer balance connection to community with the integrity of the badge and the--sometimes questionable--integrity of the officers around them?
Taken in black & white with a 4"x5" large-format camera, the images will be of officers in their uniform and in civilian clothes accompanied by hand-written narratives from each officer. The exhibition will also include an artist talk with Daniel Edwards and meditation led by Octavia Raheem.
